aka Titoki or New Zealand Oak

Outstanding NZ native that forms a handsome spreading tree. Large, glossy, light green dissected foliage. Sprays of rusty red woolly flowers appear in summer followed by scarlet berries with jet black seeds. Will grow in quite exposed conditions but protect from harsh frost. Evergreen.

aka Italian Cypress Aka Pencil Pine

A useful, upright, slender conifer that can be used to create vertical accents in planting schemes or containers. Dark green thread-like foliage that forms a column and tapers to a point. Must have good drainage and likes deeply worked soil and a sunny spot. Evergreen.

Rosea is a popular tree for its abundance of large mainly red flowers that cover the tree in late winter and early spring. Rosea develops an open spreading crown, once the tree is established. It is quite drought and lime tolerant and moderately salt tolerant and also adapts really well to wetter climates. Evergreen

These giant silver proteas are beautiful trees with light-reflecting, silky, silver leaves. An erect ornamental tree, with a stout trunk and thick grey bark. They are at their most silver in hot, dry weather, when the hairs on the leaves lie flat to protect the leaves from drying out.

Avoid fertilisers but will respond well to compost or peat.

A very handsome evergreen specimen tree with dark green glossy leaves that have a brown under-felt. The flowers are magnificent: Cupped, creamy, fragrant and large. They appear in late summer. Easy to grow and quite hardy. Matures to a pyramidal shape, worthy of the space to grow unhindered.

Grandiflora. This tree is definitely in my top 10! Always looks good, tolerates just about any conditions. Glossy green leaves accented with a bronze under felt, large creamy white blooms that are softly fragrant. Wonderful as a single specimen or as an avenue planting.

Upright, narrow columnar habit, useful where space is limited and height is desired. Gives a strong vertical line, accentuating driveways, entrances and formal plantings. Bright green foliage with bronze tones in the winter. Well worth planting. A possible xmas tree option. Hardy and evergreen.
